Philipp Budka teaches at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna in the BA, MA and CREOLE (Cultural Differences and Transnational Processes) programs. He has given lectures and seminars on the introduction to sociocultural anthropology, the anthropology of media and technology, digital anthropology and digital ethnography, and the anthropology of North America, as well as visual anthropology, and has organized ethnographic field schools at the University of Vienna.

He was a lecturer in the MA Program in Visual and Media Anthropology at FU Berlin and HMKW Berlin, where he taught courses on Indigenous media and media activism. Beyond Vienna and Berlin, he has given guest lectures at different universities, most recently at KU Leuven, the University of Tübingen, and the University of Koblenz-Landau. He has also contributed to the development of digital learning materials for the social sciences, particularly sociocultural anthropology.
